Dassault workflows require distinct hardware profiles. SOLIDWORKS and CATIA rely on peak single-core clock speeds (GHz) to rebuild parts, while SIMULIA (ABAQUS) scales across massive multi-core CPUs and ECC memory channels.
All prices are tentative and subject to change based on configuration and component availability. Dassault Systèmes software licenses are procured separately.

Architectural Features & Performance
The Single-Core Modeling Imperative
3D parametric modeling in SOLIDWORKS and CATIA is a linear, sequential process. It cannot be split across multiple cores. Our CAD workstations are built around CPUs with the highest possible single-core Turbo Boost frequencies (up to 6.0 GHz) to eliminate rebuild lag.
ISV-Certified Professional Graphics
Dassault software requires verified OpenGL performance. Consumer gaming GPUs (like GeForce) lack the certified drivers needed for features like RealView Graphics or flawless CATIA viewport rendering. We exclusively integrate NVIDIA RTX Ada Generation professional GPUs to guarantee 100% software stability and visual accuracy.
SIMULIA Multi-Core Scaling
When transitioning from design to validation, ABAQUS solvers require massive computational throughput. We deploy Threadripper PRO and EPYC platforms to deliver the 8-channel and 12-channel memory bandwidth necessary to keep multi-core solvers fed with data during complex crash or thermal simulations.
Engineering Disclaimer: Optimal CAD viewport performance in SOLIDWORKS and CATIA scales with single-core CPU frequency. SIMULIA solver throughput scales with core count and memory bandwidth. ISV certification status is GPU-driver specific.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I use an NVIDIA GeForce GPU for SOLIDWORKS or CATIA?
Dassault Systèmes strictly certifies professional-grade GPUs (like NVIDIA RTX Ada). Consumer GeForce cards lack the verified enterprise drivers, which can lead to graphical artifacts, viewport crashing, and the inability to use hardware-accelerated features like SOLIDWORKS RealView.
Should I buy a dual-CPU system for CAD modeling?
No. If your primary task is drawing and modeling in SOLIDWORKS or CATIA, a dual-CPU system will actually slow you down because they run at lower clock frequencies. High-frequency single-CPU workstations (like Intel Core i9) are best for CAD. Dual-CPUs are only recommended if you are running heavy SIMULIA (ABAQUS) solver workloads.
How much RAM do I need for large assemblies?
For standard parts, 32GB is sufficient. However, if you are loading massive assemblies (10,000+ parts) or running concurrent simulations, we recommend 64GB to 128GB of DDR5 memory to prevent the system from paging to the storage drive, which causes severe slowdowns.
Do I need ECC Memory for Dassault applications?
For standard CAD modeling, standard DDR5 is fine. However, if you are running SIMULIA/ABAQUS simulations that take hours or days to complete, Error-Correcting Code (ECC) memory is highly recommended to prevent single-bit errors from crashing the solver.
